After nearly 6 years with no significant update to Windows 10, Windows 11 is a great update that you should not miss!
More importantly, it’s FREE!
2. Stunning User Interface
Windows 10 has been around for 6 years and there is no big update ever since. So, it’s completely normal if you start to feel bored with the user interface. With the news that Windows 11 update is coming, it could be the perfect time for you to get a little refreshment.
The new Windows 11 user interface shows a dramatic change. It looks glassy as you see there’s a lot of shininess and transparency. With this new design, Microsoft is trying to bring you simplicity and cut the complexity.
If you pay attention to the new Windows logo, now it looks symmetric. It also has an iconic wallpaper which somehow reminds me of a blue rose whenever I see it. And the color makes me calm. Don’t you feel the same?

The Start menu is pretty much different now. It is located at the center of the screen along with other icons like Search, Microsoft Teams, Explorer, Edge, and Windows Store. It makes it easier to reach whenever you need to. But, you are always able to put it back to the left corner if you find it odd. After all, what’s important is your comfort.
Click the Start menu button and you’ll see a new design of it. It looks simpler and fresh now. Here, you will find the Pined apps and Recommended files or apps. The pined apps section shows the apps that you use often. So you don’t waste your time searching for them in a list of apps like the old Start menu. While the Recommended section provides the files or apps that you recently opened not only from your PC but also from your device that is connected with your OneDrive account.

Besides, Microsoft is trying to bring more comfort to your eyes by providing two basic themes: dark and light. There are 6 variants of dark and light themes that you can choose via the Personalize section. The themes have the contrast that is perfect for people with visual impairments. Hence, seeing calm colors will reduce the stress you put on your eyes when staring at the monitor over a period of time.
3. Connect instantly with your friends and family

Microsoft wants you to stay close with your family and friends. Thus, the Microsoft Teams app is coming with Windows 11 update to your computer.
Hit the Microsoft Teams icon on the taskbar to make a video call or send a text to your family or friends. As long as they have the Microsoft Teams app installed on their devices, no matter it’s Android, iOS, or Mac, they can still receive your call or text.
This may sound awkward because everyone knows that Microsoft Teams is usually used for something more professional like meeting with colleagues. But by making it the default communication app in Windows 11, it seems Microsoft wants to change the way we see Teams.
4. Android app can run natively on Windows 11

This is one of the biggest news that you may hear in 2021, Android apps can now run natively in Windows. Previously, you may need to use third-party software like BlueStacks to run Android apps on your Windows computer. But, once you get Windows 11 updates, you won’t need the Android emulator anymore.
That said, you can open TikTok, Instagram, and also Android games on your computer without ease. The Android apps will be available on Amazon’s Appstore that you can access from the new Windows Store.
Thanks to the Intel Bridge technology that makes it possible to happen. But if you are using AMD, we are afraid that you have to wait a little bit longer.
It is quite good news because you no longer need to check your phone back and forth when working in front of your PC. Windows is capable to bring your phone’s environment to your computer.
5. More AI-powered apps to come
Windows provides applications with powerful AI capabilities built right in, for example, the Luminar AI app. The AI in the app works wonderfully to recognize the objects in the photo separately, such as the sky, landscape, water, people, and more.
Interestingly, you can easily change the object in the picture with just one click.
Say, you just took a photo of scenery, but you don’t like the sky. And you’re thinking of editing the sky. This can easily be done in Luminar. Just open the photo on the Luminar app and the app will recognize the objects in it. Then, choose the sky that you want from the template to replace the original one. You’ll be amazed at the result.
6. Multitasking becomes more convenient
When opening several apps at the same time, you probably find it tiring to move from one app to another. Or, you probably try to manually resize the apps so that they fit on your screen. Please do no more.

The snap layout and snap groups feature in Windows 11 let you easily arrange the opened apps to fit on your screen automatically with just one click. Just hover your cursor over the maximize or minimize button on the top right corner of the window and choose the layout. There are six different ways to split your opened apps into three to fit your monitor. You can choose whichever layout that you want. However, if you have a smaller screen, Windows will just offer you 4 snap layouts.
This way, you can increase your productivity because multitasking can never be this easy.
7. Get updated information on widgets

Widgets bring all the necessary information that you need closer to you quickly. With widgets, you don’t need to open different apps to get updates. Widgets will handle this all for you.
Swipe from the left using the touch or press the Windows button + N and the widgets will slide in from the left of your monitor. Its classy look will make it easier for you to read all the information at a glance.
Microsoft lets you customize the widgets by resizing, removing, and rearranging the content. You can have weather, to-do list, calendar, traffic, news, stock, and more in the widgets. Even you can personalize the feed to show stories based on your interest.
