Siri is a smart personal assistant that can help you with a variety of tasks on your Apple devices. You can ask Siri to read messages, play music, open apps, call someone, or find articles. You can also ask Siri more specific questions, such as “What’s the weather forecast?”
It is also possible to grant Siri the ability to read messages. You also don’t have to unlock and open your iPhone to read incoming messages if you’re wearing AirPods. Instead, Siri will automatically read them to you.

How to Turn off Siri Reading Texts on Your AirPods from Your iPhone
Note: This feature is only available on iPhones with iOS 15 and iPads with iPadOS 15 or later.
Your iPhone provides two easy ways to stop Siri from reading messages on AirPods: permanently and temporarily.
Option 1: Permanently stop Siri from reading texts
1 Open Settings.
2 Select Notifications.
3 Select Announce Messages with Siri.
4 Toggle Announce Messages with Siri.
You can also disable it from the Control Center if you’ve added the shortcut there. To disable Announce Messages, swipe down the home screen to open the Control Center and tap the Announce Messages icon.
Option 2: Temporarily stop Siri from reading texts
It is also possible to pause Siri from reading your messages on AirPods temporarily.
There are two options for how long you want to pause Siri: 1 hour or the whole day.
After the muting time has been over, the feature will be enabled automatically. And you can have Siri read the messages back to you again.
To stop Siri from reading messages temporarily:
1 Swipe down the home screen to open the Control Center.
2 Press and hold the Announce Messages icon until a new window shows up on your screen.
