If you have a black screen or blank screen on your Windows 11 PC, do the following steps to boot into Safe Mode.
This method requires you to enter the Windows Recovery Environment (winRE). So, you will need to shut down your computer several times to get into it.
1. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to shut down your Windows 11 PC.
2. Hit the power button again to turn it back on.
3. Once your computer starts, hold down the power button for 15 seconds to shut down your device again.
4. Hit the power button again to turn it back on.
5. Once your computer starts, hold down the power button for 15 seconds to shut down your device again.
6. Hit the power button again to turn it back on.
7. Let your computer boot into Automatic Repair, and choose Advanced options to enter winRE.
Now, you should have been in winRE. Follow the steps below to start Windows 11 in Safe Mode.
1. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
2. A list of options will show up after your computer restarts. Press F4 to start your Windows 11 in Safe Mode. Press F5 if you want to use Safe Mode with Networking – it allows you to use the internet on Safe Mode.
How do I exit from Safe Mode?
To exit from Safe Mode in Windows 11, you can simply restart your computer. It will boot like normal. But if your computer keeps booting into Safe Mode, here’s what you need to do:
1. Hold down the Windows key + R button at the same time.
2. Write msconfig in the Run dialog box and hit OK.
3. Choose the Boot tab.
4. Uncheck Safe boot under Boot options.
Starting from now, your computer will boot normally.
