Try to reset your Apple ID password when you have a sign-in problem.

Apple ID is the account that you use to sign in to your Apple devices and services like iCloud, Apple Music, App Store, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. Without it, you won’t be able to use any services on Apple. Moreover, you won’t be able to purchase or download items on your Apple devices.
Due to its importance, you have to keep your Apple ID and password secure. You must not share your Apple ID and password with anyone because it contains a lot of important data such as your credit card and address.

4 Methods to Reset Your Apple ID Password
Method 1: Use your Apple devices
iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Apple Watch
Note: If you use Apple Watch, it should have watchOS 8 or later.
1. Go to Settings > your name > Password & Security > Change Password.

2. Insert the passcode if you have a passcode enabled and are signed in to iCloud.
3. Follow the instructions on your screen to reset your password.
Mac with macOS Catalina or above
1. Click the Apple logo at the top left.
2. Select System Preferences and click Apple ID.
3. Select Password & Security.
4. Click Forgot Apple ID or password if you are asked to enter your Apple ID password.

5. Follow the onscreen steps.
6. Click Change Password and type your new password.
Method 2: Use others’ Apple devices
The Apple Support app or the Find My iPhone app allows you to reset your Apple ID password using your friend’s iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.
Use the Apple Support app
1. Download the Apple Support app on your friend’s iPhone or iPad.
2. Open the Apple Support app.
3. Press Password & Security.
4. Press Reset Apple ID password.
5. Press Get Started > A different Apple ID.
6. Type your Apple ID whose password you’ll want to reset.
7. Press Next.
8. Follow the onscreen steps until it’s complete.
Use the Find My iPhone app
If you cannot download the Apple Support app on your friend’s iPhone or iPad, use the Find My iPhone app instead.
1. Launch the Find My iPhone app.
2. Press Sign out to log out from the current Apple ID. The Apple ID field should be empty now.
3. Press Forgot Apple ID or Password and follow the onscreen instructions.
Method 3: Use a trusted phone number, trusted email, recovery key, or account recovery contact
Note: You must have already set up a recovery key or recovery contact beforehand if you want to use them to reset your Apple ID password.
Use a recovery key
If you’ve forgotten your Apple ID password, try logging in with a passcode on a trusted device. A trustworthy phone number and an Apple device can also help you reset your password. The device must be running iOS 11 or later, and the recovery key must include upper-case letters and hyphens. Visit a recovery key page to learn more about it.
Use a recovery contact
If you lose your Apple ID password or are locked out of your account, just follow the onscreen instructions to contact your recovery contact in person or by phone. Your recovery contact then sends you a six-digit code. After that, you can reset your Apple ID password. Visit a recovery contact page to learn more about it.
Use a trusted phone number or email
In rare situations, you may be able to reset your password by providing a verified phone number and email address.
Method 4: Use iForgot
If none of the methods above is working and you still cannot reset your Apple ID Password, do the following steps:
1. Visit iforgot.apple.com.
2. Type your Apple ID.
3. Click the option to reset your password.
4. Select Continue.
5. Select one: answer the security question, get an email, or enter your Recovery Key.
6. Do the instructions on your screen to change your password.
You’ll be prompted to sign in again with your new password after you’ve reset your password. You may also need to update your password in the Settings section of your devices.
Note down your Apple ID password or use a password manager app to store your password so that you won’t forget it again.
