Apple recently released a firmware update 1.0.301 for your AirTag. It seems that it’s just a small update compared to the previous update in February.
The update may only bring a small tweak about the tracking sound so that it is easier to find an unknown AirTag, but it could be a patch for the bug that was causing confusion around unwanted tracking as mentioned in the last Unwanted Tracking article.

1. Launch the Find My app.
2. Select the Items tab.
3. Tap on your AirTag and you will see the serial number and firmware version.
