After everything is set, try to double-tap your AirPods to see if the functions are working properly.
4. Set the Ear Tip Fit Test
If you are using an AirPods Pro, you can set the Ear Tip Fit Test feature. This feature will help you figure out the best size earbud for your ears. Tap the Ear Tip Fit Test and follow the instructions on your screen for the configurations.
By using the right earbud size on your AirPods, you can get the best experience of noise cancellation and it will increase the quality of the sound.
5. Set the Noise Cancellation
Your AirPods Pro supports noise cancellation. It is extremely useful for filtering out distracting noise when you are in a crowded environment so that you can listen to audio on your AirPods Pro with ease. It is also useful when you are making a phone call outside.
There are three settings available for the noise control feature: Noise Cancellation, Off, and Transparency.
When you turn on Noise Cancellation, it will block all noise from the outside so that you can focus on the audio from your AirPods. Select this feature when you don’t want any disturbances.
Meanwhile, if you select Transparency, you can still listen to your surroundings while listening to your AirPods. Use this feature when you are listening to AirPods while doing some activities outside, such as bicycling or jogging.
To quickly switch the noise control feature on your AirPods Pro, you can press and hold one of your AirPods stems with two fingers. Then, choose the noise control that you want.
What to do if you cannot connect AirPods to your iPad
1. Check the Bluetooth setting
Remember that a Bluetooth connection is required if you want to connect AirPods to your iPad.
If you don’t see an animation on your home screen while trying to connect AirPods to your iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap your AirPods.
If your AirPods are not listed among the available devices, turn off and then re-enable Bluetooth. Also, remember to open the AirPods case lid.
2. Charge your AirPods
If the status light on your AirPods does not light up, try charging your AirPods for a couple of minutes. It should have at least 30%-50% charged.
Once your AirPods are charged, you can retry the steps above to pair them with your iPad.
3. Use the latest iPadOS
To connect your AirPods to an iPad, your iPad should have iPadOS 13 or later. To check it, go to Settings > General > About, and check the Software Version.
To update your iPad, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, you’ll see a notification. Tap Download and Install to proceed.
Make sure that you connect your iPad to the charging cable while updating your device because it will take some time depending on the size of the update and how fast your internet is.
4. Hard reset your AirPods
Have you connected your AirPods to other devices yet?
You may be unable to connect your AirPods to your iPad because the headset is already connected to another device.
To resolve this issue, you can try hard reset to your AirPods.
To perform a hard reset to your AirPods, do the following steps:
1. Open the AirPods case lid and leave the headset inside.
2. Press the button at the back of your AirPods case until the status light changes color, from white to orange, and goes back to white again.
3. Release the button.
4. Try to connect your AirPods to the iPad again.
5. Connect AirPods to other devices
If you are still unable to connect your AirPods to your iPad, try pairing your headset with another device such as an iPhone or a Mac.
If your AirPods pair successfully with your iPhone, it means your iPad has a connection problem. You may need to reset your iPad to resolve the issue.
